b]Thornton Cleveleys 7 - 32 Warrington[/b]

Following last weeks giant-killing semi-final, Warrington made the journey to Thornton Cleveleys in confident mood with a chance to keep up the chase on the League. Despite resting several players, any anxiety the coaching team had about the lads being more focussed on their night out in Blackpool were quashed with 2 Warrington tries in the first two passages of play. Warrington going through their phases before fly-half Matt Beeley put fullback Harrison Turner into space, Beeley received the ball again in support before finding the other Turner brother, Luke to open the scoring. 0-5

From the kick off Warrington again made ground through their phases before James Hartill found space in the centres then putting a neatly weighted grubber kick that H.Turner won the race to score. The game then lulled with Cleveley's trying to slow down the attack, some cheap tactics and 2 yellow cards created some space for Beeley again find the Turner brothers in space with Harrison claiming his second, JP Hudson converting.

Half time 0-17.

Warrington defended resiliently in their 22 for the first 15 minutes of the 2nd half before Beeley's huge clearing kick and determined chase relieved the pressure and put Warrington on the attack resulting in a penalty slotted over by Hudson. Warrington had a lapse of concentration allowing Cleveley's to cross themselves before another Beeley kick with another great chase had Evans retrieve possession to put Harrison Turner in for his hat-trick. To finish the day Evans again made a break from a lineout to put Austin Carr clear to get the final try.

FT 7-32

Coach Parky was pleased with the teams focus, "Today, as has been often the case this season, our width in attack and pace on the flanks paid early dividends. I thought our concentration levels were high throughout the game and it showed particularly in the last quarter with some creative offloading both in our pack and partnerships between centre and wing. To achieve such a result, away against a side that had averaged 30 points a game in its three previous fixtures, was really pleasing."
