****Law and Regulation Changes 2019-20****
New requirements for Technical Areas have been introduced in January 2020 (see attached). Relevant for all Coaches and House & Grounds volunteers.
1) All M&J coaches should be aware of Regulation 15 Age Grade, and the Rules of Play for their Age Grade. Updated document attached. Also available from the RFU site: link to RFU Age Grade Resources.
2) There are quite a few other developments this season - please see the document for an overview. One of the main change for the 2019-20 season is the compulsory implementation of the Half Game Rule. The full rules are definitely worth a read (see attached) as it is not as draconian as it sounds but does needs careful thought about how to implement. Please also see the sanctions, which are not to be sniffed at, including suspension from coaching and point deductions for 1st XV.
3) World Rugby have introduced 2 main law amendments - one applying to scrums Link to Law change on scrums and the other being a framework for applying sanctions for high tackles (on same link).
4) One of the main changes for the 2018-19 season in Adult Rugby that filtered down was the new sanction table for Foul Play (see document attached).
The club is affiliated to Lancashire so our Senior and Junior teams participate in Lancashire Cup/Challenge/Waterfall Competitions. Representative fixtures and squads are also announced online: http://www.lancashirerugby.co.uk/
